I'm also a MediaWiki webmaster and when I visited this site, I noticed a few uncategorized categories so I naturally tried to add them to what I though was the root of this website.

| − | I almost immediately received a message from [[User:Piotr Banski|Piotr Banski]] telling me that the [[:Category:TEI Wiki|TEI Wiki category]] was not the root and that he didn't believe there was any need for a such a category. After exchanging a few messages, I showed him that the main reason why I use a root category is that I had feedback from users on one of my sites finding it difficult to navigate properly through a wiki website. Since I already had a root category, I simply added the [http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:CategoryTree CategoryTree extension] and then went on to also add a " browse " link to the sidebar linking to that root category.
