Allows to document arguments for an editorial decision. e.g. "Because of Goethes way to work (writing some lines and leaving space between them for new text) we assume that this line was added at a later point as is also visible by the change of the characteristics of his handwriting" Can also be used to document alternative solutions and counter-arguments, especially useful in working groups.
