Confusion about "Table of ways to serve TEI on the web"

I really like the "Table of ways to serve TEI on the web" under "Presentation of content", but I don't understand a lot of it. Questions below. (Kshawkin 10:18, 24 April 2010 (EDT))

Some rows include "TEI" or even XML as a skill but others don't. Since we're talking about TEI documents for all of these, I suggest not bothering to list TEI or XML for any.

Single TEI file + XSL Processing Instruction (PI) – Is this browser-side XSLT processing? You'll want to discuss the fact that browser-side processing means pages load quite slowly for large files.

Single web page from (single TEI file + single XSL file) – Is this an HTML page that's pregenerated from TEI source using XSLT? Or does this also include dynamic generation of HTML by server-side XSLT?

Single web page from (single TEI file + single XSL file) + TEI file – Is the same as the row above but with a link to the raw TEI? What is "a link to web"?

Multiple web page from (multiple TEI files + xinclude + XSL file(s) ) + TEI files – I can't picture this at all. And I still don't know what "a link to web" is.

There are other native XML databases besides eXist, right? If so, I would reword relevant rows as "Multiple tei files in native XML database (e.g., eXist) + [. . .]"

What's a post-relational database? Is this really the same thing as SQL?

I think it would be good to be explicit about how packages like XTF and PhiloLogic fit into this.

I've made some changes, but there's no way I can comment on XTF and PhiloLogic, since I know nothing about them. Stuartyeates 16:01, 24 April 2010 (EDT)
