Reading the message/talk page and deleting the content seems to have done it for me. *shrug* No idea.

Re: DM Wiki ... I know. It has been left neglected for a bit. We're planning a move to a new server and sometime after that we might move to a later version of it. Because of a misconfiguration (which we have no access to change) banning of users doesn't seem to work on that. Always a problem with academics looking after wikis, etc., we all have so many 'more important' things to do.

Which of the available captcha's do you think we should go for? I noticed especially:

and
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ReCAPTCHA
If the first, do we need a captcha on all edits? or only user account creation?

Hi Piotr,
Thanks for letting me know that Category:TEI Wiki was not the root category. I am a MediaWIki webmaster myself and I must admit that I find a single root category always helpful for new visitors. It is usually good wiki practice to also add the CategoryTree extension so that in a single location, a new user can have access to the general structure of the website.
Should I revert my edits or maybe move the uncategorized categories to a different root cat?

- Well, since I'm only an occasional visitor, I wouldn't want to impose a structure, especially since you seem to have been very involved in the curent one.
- The main reason why I use a root category is that I had feedback from users on one of my sites finding it difficult to navigate properly through a wiki website. So I went for a root category with the aformentioned CategoryTree extension and then went on to add a " browse " link to the sidebar linking to that root category. You can check out the results here.
- I definitely think it improved the website and at the same time made it so much easier to categorize pages properly. At a glance, I can access the root category and click on the [+] button until I find the most appropriate subcategory for any new article. Check it out and if you like the idea, it will be my pleasure to help set it up here.

best URL for Chicago Colloqium
The URL http://chicagocolloquium.org/ currently redirects to http://lucian.uchicago.edu/blogs/dhcs/ , which is the website of the 2013 colloquium. But since the colloquium moves around to various host institutions, this URL is unlikely be the best one to find the 2014 site. I'm pretty sure http://chicagocolloquium.org/ is the canonical one.
