Root
Hi Stéphane. Category:TEI Wiki is not the root category. It's a category for TEI Wiki matters. There is no single root here (and no need for one, I'd venture). Best, Piotr 12:11, 11 April 2008 (EDT)
- Hi again. Here's the place where the category structure is open for discussion. Have a look at it, please and feel welcome to join in. I'd say, if you really think we need a single root category, maybe a new one would be better. Cheers, Piotr 12:21, 11 April 2008 (EDT)
- I've been a wiki user for a while and watched the introduction of that extension and you are right, it's useful. Was thinking of a root category here, but that was in the old days when the wiki software here was too ancient to try anything fancy, and setting up the root just for the sake of it being there struck me as possibly being my own bias (dealing with single-root trees every day, and they aren't necessarily XML trees), overmeticulousness, or whatever. And I didn't want to go too far, being new here myself. So I was ok with gathering all loose categories into those few basic ones, and linking them from the main page.
- I don't see anything bad in trying something new, especially if there is a chance of it being useful/more user-friendly. So I'd say, go ahead. James Cummings is the person to contact about installing the extension. Piotr 12:49, 11 April 2008 (EDT)
