Contents
Overview
In memory and honor of Sebastian Rahtz (13 February 1955 – 15 March 2016), the TEI Consortium has created the Rahtz Prize for TEI Ingenuity, an award that is intended to capture’s Sebastian’s spirit and marked technical and philosophical contributions to the TEI, and encourage TEI innovation by the TEI community.
(should add a brief bio about Sebastian in terms of his involvement and contributions to the TEI).
About the Rahtz Prize
The Rahtz Prize for TEI Ingenuity is awarded annually to an individual or team for a significant contribution in advancing the TEI-C's mission with respect to technical innovation. In particular, contributions should reflect: innovative development of the TEI-C Guidelines, the creation of TEI-aware tools and technologies that further dissemination, adoption, and engaged use of the TEI-C Guidelines, expansive and inclusive training and outreach opportunities, and the cultivation of particular TEI-C researcher and practitioner communities. Many of us are often exploring or implementing ways to expand the TEI, and we hope this Prize will recognize the great work that is already being done or incentivize the work that is meaning to be done.
The Rahtz Prize actively encourages submissions from all parts of the world.

A new panel of judges may change as frequently as every year, but the same jury should not serve more than 3 consecutive years.
