Planning for TEI Tweet Chat on Libraries
Paul O'Shea is the TEI's social media coordinator. We'll hold this on Nov. 13, following his plan of holding Tweet Chats on the second Thursday of the monthNov. 19.
To do in advance
- Choose a time. The last one was held at 3 p.m. Dublin time (usually 10 a.m. Eastern Time), but we might hold this one at 4 p.m. Dublin time so that people on Pacific Time (when it's 8 a.m.) will have a better chance of being able to attend. [PAUL AND KEVIN DECIDED TO TO WITH 3 P.M. DUBLIN TIME / 10 A.M. EASTERN.]
- Come up with a discussion topic. Ideas:
- "What's the future of TEI in libraries?" [PAUL ANNOUNCED AS "TEI IN LIBRARIES".]
- Advertise the event beginning week of Nov. 10.
- Paul has plans for this.
- Find a prominent library blogger to promote the event
- Roy Tennant [NO TIME BEFORE NEXT COLUMN WILL APPEAR.]
- Dorothea Salo [NO TIME BEFORE NEXT COLUMN WILL APPEAR.]
- dh+lib (aside from the blog, Sarah Potvin has agreed to tweet an announcement from @DHandLb) [KEVIN HAS EMAILED, BUT SARAH SAYS THEIR NEXT ISSUE WON'T APPEAR TILL THURSDAY. HOWEVER, SHE SUGGESTED KEVIN WRITE A POST AT SOME POINT TO INTRODUCE THE SIG TO THEIR READERS.]
- Other venues to promote in:
- CODE4LIB [KEVIN HAS EMAILED.]
- TEI Technical Council will be meeting face to face during that time; Elli Mylonas said she'd add to the agenda a reminder to retweet us.
To do during the event
- Mention the Best Practices and ask if people are using this document. Mention that we would like to incorporate what we can into P5, and tell them we are gathering ideas for future changes.
- Mention Thutmose II and ask if people are using this tool.
- Mention the new page of Crosswalks.
- Ask what we might do with the TEI Libraries SIG Manifesto.
