XMLSpy is a commercial XML development environment supporting XSLT, CSS, XQuery, XML Schema and many other specifications.

It offers an "XML editor, the original graphical schema designer, a code generator, file converters, debuggers, profilers, full database integration, support for WSDL, SOAP, XSLT, XPath, XQuery, and Open XML documents, plus VS .NET and Eclipse plug-ins, and more."

Source code and licensing

This is a closed-source software, with license costs starting at €399 (professional edition) and €799 (enterprise edition) (prices as of 2007-10-02).

Technical support is paid extra, for 1 or 2 years (see the links above).

No discounts are offered for academic institutions or TEI members.

Support for TEI

TEI support is described thusly: "Templates are provided for the separate TEI types (prose, mixed, terminology) along with a TEILite template."
