TEI Lite is a TEI customisation designed to meet "90% of the needs of 90% of the TEI user community." For many uses of TEI, TEI Lite does what you need, straight out of the box.
TEI Lite should not to be confused with TEI Tite, which is a customisation for use in outsourcing production of TEI documents.
