Stuart Yeates is a computer scientist by training<ref>Text Augmentation: Inserting markup into natural language text with PPM Models PhD thesis</ref> and is currently the technical lead for the New Zealand Electronic Text Centre. <ref>NZETC Staff page</ref> Previously he worked at OUCS under Sebastian and Lou. He is learning te reo Māori.
